Eggs are spendy. Careful when buying in Florida.

We're coming up on mating season! Usually the only time of year I see them behind my house.

What's your favorite off-the-shelf/store-bought barbecue sauce?

So far for me it's SBR, but I'm keen to follow this thread for some better options. Not that I dislike SBR, but always looking to improve!

Going to add a new smoker - advise please

The 560 is not as big as you think, and in fact the main cook surface on your Texas Trio is bigger than the 560's total cook surface. (779 vs 560 sq in). Bellies and hanging sausage take a good bit of space, especially sausage with the need for a vertical component. I have a 1050 and I've...

Going to add a new smoker - advise please

What do you plan to use it for? The gravity vertical is strictly a smoker, while the 560 is a smoker than you can use as a grill (all the way up to 700f cook temps, if you dare push it that far). 560 will chew through charcoal a lot faster than the vertical, but is more versatile. It comes...

I REALLY need to remember to stay OUT of HD/Lowe's on Saturdays...

Around here it’s ok if you get there before 10. Speaking of which, off to pick up some door hardware.

    Fast food pricing

I'm with you here. Steaks, burgers, bbq - hell no, I can do better. The only things we eat out are things we can't or don't want to cook at home, which is basically sushi, Thai, and Indian. Once a month we'll get a nice takeout meal from one of our spots locally, other than that it's home cookin'

    Masterbuilt Gravity Series 560

No problem at all. I've been down the rabbit hole on troubleshooting these things so I'm happy to help where I can. I strongly recommend you verify with customer service before ordering anything. A similar parts list I referenced in my post had information on the 1050, and showed the gasket...

Disaster Relief Dinner: Blackened Filet Mignon (Lotsa Pics @ Lotsa Dialog)

This happens to my parents a lot too. They live in a very nice neighborhood and pay a "rich tax" as many people are unwilling to do the work themselves and ignorant on what it takes. My parents are not nearly as wealthy as many of their neighbors, and my dad is an impeccable DIYer (you should...

    Masterbuilt Gravity Series 560

There are two main types of gasket material on the MB Gravity Series. The first is the rubbery-ish (I am sure it's some type of synthetic) material around the hopper lid and firebox doors. The second is a fibrous material (e.g. high temp fiberglass or something similar) for the two gaskets in...

    Masterbuilt Gravity Series 560

+1 to what @Smokin Okie said. I have the LSS hopper cover and it solved my problems. If you don't want to order the full mod you can use lavalock around the seal for charcoal chute. I haven't had any problems with the firebox door, but wouldn't doubt it if you did. Have you tried...

Weber is introducting a stand alone Griddle.....

Sorry, I wasn't really that articulate. I should've added that I have seen a few "portable-ish" options, Blackstone has or had one too, but they don't look that sturdy to me. I might be asking for something that nobody else wants, and probably am, as if a bunch of people wanted them I assume...
