I like the Franken smoker name.
I'm no bbq expert, but it seems your door is huge.
I made some smaller grills so you could lift them out. I used 3/8 solid square stock. With the 911 expanded metal. More then strong enough. Advantage is lower profile. Which gives you more room.
I arrived and they too have not used it a lot. But they forgot to lock the lid down on the charcoal feed and it burned the 2,000 degree gasket. I replaced the gasket and told them they need the bbq guru. Which is a fan to control the temperature.
Bummer on the delay. I sprayed my with a large can of cooking oil and the fired it up, which cures the steel. Not sure for how long.
Going to see mine tomorrow, wonder if they figure it out too
I used Frank Cox plans.
So I did not do any calculation.
From using the smoker it works great.
Seems a bit slow to get up to temperature.

A bbq guru fan is needed to really make this unit be 100% complete...
I would have to look through my receipts, but I bought it from eBay
Same for a lot of parts as nobody local had 2" pipe The gasket from smoker builder parts.com
Day 5000, well is seems like it.
This is taking a lot more time to finish. The doors need a lot more attention to details to get them built and hung.
After some setbacks I got the hinges welded on. Working on the slam latch now. I also got the intake vent installed. 2 more smaller doors...
Ok got the door clamped into position. The bullet hinges are a bit small. I'm going to weld on some wings
The next issue is the slam latch, it not so easy to get the holes just right. Plus you need to find the rivnut gun that has been lost for more than a year.
Plan B it's 10 times...
Ok day 16 I think. I worked like a mad man over the weekend. Got a lot done.
Almost got the door finished, should get it mounted in a day or 3.
I used some of the scrap steel to hold the insulation in place. it's stuff in tight, but this will hold up to traveling too.
Welded like a...
Ok got the racks all welded, its like 80 welds per rack times 5 that's 400 welds.
Starting to take shape.
I just realized that with the air inlet on the side it might not fit through a standard door.
Need to decide quick if I should move it to the side.
Edit.. I could find a 90 and...
