water pan in smoker
Merry Christmas everybody! Just felt like making a post so.... I smoked all summer on my uds without a water pan. I just added one today and am smoking a ham...that water pan really stabilized the temps! I'm kinda amazed it works as good as it does. Should have done it sooner- sinister

newbie in michigan
Merry Christmas and hello from a newbie. I'm in Portage Mi and recently started smoking on an ugly drum smoker i built. It has 3 vents at the bottom and a 3 inch smokestack at the top. Right now i'm smoking a Christmas ham :) -
water pan in smoker Q
Merry Christmas everyone. I've been lurking a bit and finally joined. Question is...does a water pan in the smoker lower temps drastically? I have an ugly drum smoker i built and it works great with only 1 of the 3 valves at the bottom open (220-280 degrees adjusting the ball valve). I just...- sinister
