what's an older landmann blackdog42 offset worth? owner sent me photos & it looks to be near 3/6" thick so it's heavier than the new ones. it also looks to be it great shape
sav a lot in the st louis area has rib eye roast, eye round, & round rump roast on sale for $5.99, $3.29, & $2.99 per # thru tomorrow & possibly thru sunday
I do not know if this good everywhere but Sav-A-Lot in the st louis area has a 3 day deal on pork butts for $1.19 per lb. I was just there & the smallest one they had was 16 lbs.
I bought an original O.K. Joe Longhorn this summer. since it's usually just the wife & I, I usually smoke in my weber performer/Cajun bandit. I'm getting ready to smoke my 1st brisket so i'm doing a trial run in the O.K. Joe with some whole chickens, a rack of ribs, & a pork butt. the fire is...
anyone have one of the older !/4" steel brinkman offsets? i'm wondering how the build quality was. I had a pitmaster that was 1/8" steel that was decent. looking thru old ads & used ones on craigslist the 1/8" brinkmans, new braunsfield, & some of the others almost look like they were made in...
I have an older original Oklahoma joe longhorn offset smoker. I was looking around the horizon smoker website & found that they make a diffuser for Oklahoma joe smokers. near the firebox the plate has holes that graduate in size the farther the they get from the firebox. I was at a local...
I was checking out the horizon website & they make convection plates for Oklahoma joe smokers. they also make a plate that slides. there is a rod that runs thru the smoker & extends out the smokestack end. what would be the advantage? I would think you'd want to keep the plate up against the...
went to look at a used horizon smoker yesterday. I took my welding chipping hammer along & i'm glad I did. the firebox was full of really wet ashes. I removed what was left of the grate which was buried in the ashes, moved some ashes aside & gave the bottom a few raps with the pointed end of the...
I did my research & checked prices. the longhorn size Yoder is $1195.00 at a local dealer. the Longhorn size horizon is $1349.00 at bass pro. both of these are companies started by ex-ok joe employees. The Ok Joe which is barely 1/8" is $429.00 list at Lowes & they'll knock off 10% making it...
this is custom made & about the same size as the yoder Cheyenne & ok. joe highland. what i'm wondering is how the stack being mounted on the lid might work. it's not mine, i'm still kicking the tires.
also-do these offsets use a lot of wood/charcoal??
has anyone seen a current old country smoker in person recently. old reviews state it's built out of 1/4" steel. the current specs show it as being 14 gauge ( 1/16" ) chamber & 11 gauge ( 1/8" ) doors. the nearest dealer is 1 1/2 hours down the road. if this is true the Oklahoma joe is looking...
aren't you supposed to come with MORE money when you go to the scrap metal yard?!?!? I went to a local scrap yard today to look for some expanded metal to build a charcoal box & found a Brinkman Pitmaster Deluxe. mechanically it's in great shape, no cracks, warpage, heavy rust, or holes. there...
while bringing my weber performer home the heat diffuser blew out of the back of the truck. I thought it was under the grate. DOH!! being a flimsy piece of sheet metal it was no great loss. it looks like the easiest replacement would be a 20" pizza pan which in the 22.5 grill would leave a 3/4"...
a charcoal model weber performer the Cajun bandit extension came up for sale here. it also had a heat deflector, charcoal box, & charcoal ring. this has all the best features of a weber grill but the extension ring still looked limited size wise. anyone here have this set up? I'm also wondering...
I've read that charbroil bought out Oklahoma joe & cheapened up their smokers. is that true?? I just saw a 700 something cubic inch model with the side grill at my local lowes. it looked pretty heavy duty compared to the charbroil model sitting next to it.
I have an 18.5 weber WSM on the way but i'm looking for a grill too. what do you think an older Oklahoma joe longhorn smoker is worth? it looks to be in good shape.from what I've read the pre-char-broil grills/smokers are good units after some minor modifications.
