Another good shout, thanks Mike! Will have a play with the tray and vent idea quickly and then may well add another stack in the future anyway to cover all options 😎 Thanks again Jim I’ve never had such a friendly welcome from any forum, and I’ve been on a few…so thanks to all 💪 (maybe...

Oh yeah there would be trouble carrying these in the street, your allowed them at home, or in te garden, for pest control etc…private land is fine, my brother Inlaw has quite a few acres that we just pop targets at and a few rats that get into his veg garden There are also air gun clubs here...

Would you suggest some small holes in the plate to allow a little heat/smoke through to the underside of the meat? I’d never really heard of baffles till you guys mentioned them, been doing some reading since and noticed some have holes in them. I suppose worst case, if there is substantial...

Final design. Gonna use both that vent and a cookie tray at an angle, which can act as a deflector and also a drip tray, and then fit a drain too. You can tell im on holiday wishing I was home tinkering can’t you…

I went for this one which has directional louvres so thinking that could help send the heat and smoke the right way too

Hi Jim in theory do you think the above ducting grille I posted may work? Thinking if I drop it into the 6” pipe it may do something like this 😅 Failing that I may try the cookie sheet.. just a bit worried I might not get any smoke and heat underneath the meat if I use too big of a deflector…...

These are incredible. Obviously we’re not allowed anything like these where I’m at 🇬🇧 But here are my few “toys…” these are all we can get away with here really (1.77 pellet pcp😅 but still great fun shooting cans and little tin soldiers from 100yds) And a couple of bb/177 sidearms for plinking

Something like this might work as it’s 6inch would slot straight in, I’d maybe have to raise the grill up a bit but that’s fine

Jim thanks for this, I’m definatley going to try and have a go at some deflection of the heat as you guys have said. That would no doubt help with larger meats too as I could sit them in the centre of the grille, I was a bit worried about the direct heat hitting the meat otherwise, so I was...

Great idea, there is a damper on the 6” pipe that goes from the fire box to the cook chamber, if I spin that second around quarter turn clockwise I could use the damper in that way! (I think!) Thanks for the info guys

That’s ok thanks guys! I’m not going to worry about it too much, was holding a steady 130c on the left side, will do a chicken in there on the bank holiday and see what happens!

Hi all, just signed up, thought I’d say hi 👋 I’m Tom from Watford, England. I’ve been into grilling for about 5 or 6 years, got multiple Weber’s; a classic kettle, 2x go anywhere’s, and a Smokey joe. Over covid I decided to cut up a gas bottle and my interest in smoking meats started. I’m by...
