Some of the links on this forum allow SMF, at no cost to you, to earn a small commission when you click through and make a purchase. Let me know if you have any questions about this.
You only need to put your fuel in the fire box, whether it be charcoal or wood. You would be direct heating the meat instead of indirect if you put a fire in the smoking chamber.
Light a fire and check the temps with an ET-732 or the like. You can move the probes around and get an idea of the...
Bryan,
Just now found this thread. How did the BBQ competition go? Did it turn into an annual event? I have been looking for backyard BBQ comps in Louisville and the region in general and can't find any.
Thanks,

Google BBQ team name database or listing. You'll find some websites that is supposed to cover all BBQ comp names. There are several websites and I doubt they are all synced together.
Is there still interest in this? I was Googling trying to find comps here in KY and found just a few but then remembered this thread.

Interesting that Pappy Van Winkle was brought up on here and then last night on the local news there is a story about $26,000 work of it being stolen from a warehouse. Police think it's an inside job.
As far as giving you more info about the cooker, I unfortunately can't help you. I will say that the inside doesn't look too dirty. I would not be looking at new grates.
The only scrubbing I would do would be to get old food chunks off the grate. I think I would fire it up with a hot fire...
A GFCI only trips based on the amount of current travelling thru the ground wire, measured in mA, not amps. Running a larger load as a test doesn't prove anything except that it sounds as though the GFCI isn't ghost tripping on any load it sees. If you were closer to me I would offer to bring...
Bumping this back to the top.
Welcome to the forum Woods1. I don't know anything about programming them but I am sure there are many people on here who do and will chime in shortly.
