    Ongoing long burn tests

I appreciate all of the feedback. I think it's mostly my anal retentiveness that drives me to find out what works and what doesn't. I'm ALMOST tempted to go back to #4 with the 1/2 intakes and rework the design from there. Yes, I rely on a digital therm on the middle of my grate. Thinking I may...

    Ongoing long burn tests

Yeah, i'm going to work with it some more. I'm taking an un-built barrel into my FIL's place in the morning and we're going to cut a 2" intake into it and weld some pipe with a 90 degree elbow on it and that's going to be #6. The other thing I want to try to figure out is, is it more beneficial...

    Ongoing long burn tests

    Ongoing long burn tests

So tell me if this makes sense. I fired the drum again today, just for the heck of it. It soared well over 300 for the first hour, came down to about 292 during the second hour, and now, after uncapping one intake and setting the magnet back to 1/4 open, my temps are now hanging around 240ish...

Fired the UDS at 530pm last night and brought it up to 240ish around 615pm and started the clock from there. From 615pm through 1130pm the temps did nothing from slowly drop...

    UDS help please

Ok, day two, combining two different techniques i'm trying to establish positive temp control in UDS #5. Recap: 55Gal drum with three 3/4 intakes, two with caps and a magnet to cover the third. ALSO, loaded a specific amount of fuel, only made it two layers high in the firebox after completely...
