Pit Boss Classic vs PB 700FB

I have the 700S which is basically the same as the FB. It does not have temp probe inputs. The classic has two inputs, so there's your difference. Mark

pit boss start up over shoot

I had the same issue as you with my 700 which I have now. I removed the temp probe protector and things started working as they should. It's been off since. 2 screws and it comes off. Just watch how you put your grills in after cleaning. You do not want the grill touching the probe as you...

    Pricing out Brisket - Yeesh

I saw my very first Tri tip when I went shopping for the brisket. That too is not seen in the bigger stores around here, and if memory serves, wasn't too cheap either. Still, the butcher does stock it so I can get it whenever I want. Mark

Help. Yoder YS640 vs Rec Tec 700

This. There is a MASSIVE difference between Chinese and North American metal. If you don't mind having someone's car door in your smoker, go with the Chinese made product. Bottom line - you get what you pay for. Mark

Interesting. I must look into this clod. I've never seen the name. Not because I am feeding many - I'm just a beef slob.

    Pricing out Brisket - Yeesh

Yeah, that sounds like a viable option. Chuck is something I will need to snag from a butcher as the stores here don't sell it.

    Pricing out Brisket - Yeesh

It seems like Costco is the go-to place. $70 is still up there tho. Maybe I'm just a bit cheap - I would find it somewhat difficult to fork out that much for one slab of meat. Mark

    Pricing out Brisket - Yeesh

That is quite a difference. It is clear that brisket is more expensive than I thought, despite it being a tough chunk of meat.

The problem for them is the wall is in the wrong place. It should be separating North Korea lol.

    Pricing out Brisket - Yeesh

Yeah, I suppose. Luck of the draw though - just bought two 40# bags of pellets from a guy who owns a butcher shop. So I asked him... no... prodded him about the brisket. He confirmed it was expensive, but he will see what he can do for me. He suggested to snag a chuck if doing burnt ends...

    Pricing out Brisket - Yeesh

Yes I do. I was considering asking him if he could spare the time. Unfortunately, meat up here is just, well, expensive all around. Glad to hear you are snagging deals tho. :emoji_sunglasses:

I could certainly live with those prices. I just can't see myself paying $100 for a slab of meat, unless I won the lottery or something. Thanks for sharing. Now I'm jealous.

    Pricing out Brisket - Yeesh

The Walmarts here aren't full fledged groceries. The bigger stores don't normally stock briskets. In fact, the large store near me had brisket for sale once about 3 weeks ago - they never had it before, ever.

Costco is here but not Sams. I don't have a membership though. I believe the butcher quoted me a bit under $7 a pound, so it would be relative to the $5.70 yours charges you. I say this because $1USD = $1,000CAD lol.

I agree. I'm not sure if that is a justification for the higher prices or not.
