Well today as seen above I have emptied and then rinsed my tank one last time (first soak was for two weeks with dawn dish soap and then with TSP found at my local Ace hardware for another week). I have made my first cut for the door to help drain the tank along with a hose to help siphon out...
Thanks guys. I am probably going to do the 12 and just before the three. I went out and bought a new grinder this morning due to my last one burning up but it looks like it is going to be raining all day so I might not get to break it in.
I agree that you probably wont find metal in the cheap ones, but if you can toss a little more cash towards one it could be one that would last for a long time.
This is some of my starting materials.... got the 250 gal tank for $75 from a guy selling off all his equipment.
Starting my cutting and grinding. My cheapo grinder that I have had for years finally crapped out on me in the middle of cutting off the tool steel where the threads are. So...
Mine is a Deni 8 1/2 in slicer, but the nesco and chefs choice are good too for entry level. Do some research online and try and find one in your price range with metal gears and not plastic. Thats where the problems usually show up.
I like it. This is the design I was planning on doing. Good job on the build. Does it keep a pretty even temp? Any pointers you could give or things you would change?
This is the start. I have a bunch more steel in my garage but I will bring it outside as I need it. No room to work inside my garage so this is my work area. The trailer is too narrow I will have to extend it about a foot but it was given to me for freeeeee.
I got a decent one at home that I will shoot the name of to you but will be another 3 hours or so. It was a little more than $100 on sale but what I found when I was looking all of the "cheap" ones had plastic parts and burnt up pretty quick.
