    Rec Tec 680

Best purchase you'll ever make for a pellet.  Perfect temp control and massive smoke IMO.  My fireboard shows swings on brisket cooks that only vary 2 degrees.

    Rec Tec Mini size?

    Yes.

New Traeger. Need Advice. Food Not Smoky Enough

I can understand that, but having fought with other setups with a lot of failure, I thought I'd share what worked for me.  No harm intended.

New Traeger. Need Advice. Food Not Smoky Enough

I'm a regular over at pellet heads.  But one thing is for sure, the Rec-Tec has tons more smoke generation that Tragers and certainly more than a MES, even with the AMPTS.  (BTW, I've had both)

Switch to a RecTec... TONS of smoke flavor.

Disappointed with amount of smoke; bought a master built electric 40" added updated part sent by mas

Having struggled with one for many years, switched to Rec-Tec.  You'll never look back, massive smoke production compared to Masterbuilt.

    Go Rec-Tec.

Replaced Masterbuilt 40 w/ RecTec Mini

I've used it for 3 weeks now. Rock solid never varies more than 2 degrees up or down, even over 19 hour smokes.

    RedTec people

Higher temperatures would result in less smoke, but no smoke flavor at all?  No, not possible with anything but an electric or gasser.

    RedTec people

If you're asking about RecTec's (I've never heard of RedTec), I can say that yes, they have great smoke flavor.  I just got rid of my MES 40 Gen 2 because of lack of smoke, and can state that the smoke flavor is far greater and is generate throughout the smoke versus the MES.

Replaced Masterbuilt 40 w/ RecTec Mini

The Rec-Tec Mini is a smaller version of the fullsize Rec-Tec.  Perfect temp control- set it and forget it... I'd struggled so much with the MB that I came down to a Smokin-IT or the Rec-Tec... So far, I love it.

Replaced Masterbuilt 40 w/ RecTec Mini

I have a large Napoleon Prestige Pro for my gasser, but had used a Masterbuilt 40" Gen 2 for the past few years.  I've never had consistent smoke out of the Masterbuilt even with AMNPS.  I replaced it with a RecTec Mini... SMOKE problems solved and temperature, as measured by an iGrill2, was...

MES JMSS (Lowes) vs MES 20078715 (Amazon)?

The MES is mediocre at best.  Save for a Smokin' It and you won't regret it.

    New MES Bluetooth Digital smoker

    Definitely not.

    Should I buy the Masterbuilt 30'' ?

Skip it... Get a Smokin-It or any other brand smoker.

MES design changes? Smaller wood chip trays, why?

I have tried, to no avail for over a year, to keep an AMPS lit inside my gen 2 40.  It is too difficult to keep going.  I'll be moving on to a Smokin' It most likely.

    How Many Mes Owners Here?

I wanted to share my experiences with the new generation MES 40". The only items I use are the MES 40"  and a Maverick ET732. I definitely had my doubts about it after reading some reviews and posts here.  I can say, that overall, the unit has exceeded my expectations. I've had my unit since...
