Have mounted wheels to the frame and cut the door out and welded edge strips to it. My welding instructor from the 2 intro classes I took this Spring would be embassassed at my results, as am I...but it won't fall apart! Also cut the opening for the fire box and spent a couple of hours with...
Dave, Good comment! I'm absorbing as much as I can so I won't be a big pain in the butt next week or week after.
"I am so glad I have not attached the FB to CC, otherwise it would have created all kinds of access issues.. So for those of you considering building a reverse flow smoker, compete...
"Here are a few pics of the intake vents and the 4" stack...It was slow going haven't put together vents like this before"
I can see that these would be a challenge. They look much different than the ones you posted earlier. Which did you wind up going with? Thanks.

Dave,
I'm not being critical. When I go to the forums index, there is no area called "Articles" from which one is to find "Instructionals". Not an easy site to navigate and i would certainly like to peruse the instructionals. I accept that you were born here and I'm a newbie, but I can't...
Dave,
I've never been able to get that linked sheet to accept 120 gallons as an entering argument. Don't know what i need to do to get it to work.

I know it was a lot of work. Am doing the same drill now. Just haven't had the time to post. Hopefully in the next couple of days.
Regarding the opening at the end of the reflector plate, I understand it to be the same or larger than the FB to CC opening. As I recall, the FB to CC opening...
So you are saying the same thing I concluded. Measure up from the ground (level surface and mark and connect. I had reached the same conclusion. I don't see how it can be done from the top surface of the tank. Thanks.

I cut my door without incident. Anyone got any tips on how to lay out the cut on the end of a domed tank? Using a paper guide gives a smiley face with turned up corners. The only things I can think of are
1. with tank level and at TDC, measure up from the concrete floor and mark the cut out...
With the pre-fabbed HD-aluminum frame I'm using, depending on wheel/mounting choice, I may be as high as 44" and that is too high IMHO. I've got to find some solutions. Don't want to abandon the frame as it comes with other goodies.

Great looking build! One issue I'm wrestling with in my design is the height of the food grate surface above ground (trying to sort out wheels or casters and width/cog). Would you mind measuring the height of your cook surface above ground?
