My rock solid MES 440-S is now 80 degrees lower than the display. Anyway to fix this?
I used two different temperature gauges to confirm. Plus my pork barely got grease from the heat. I know I have seen other threads on mods for other MB models. Anyway to fix this for those who had the same issue? I have not taken anything apart. It's ~2 years old. Thanks!- starbaby

Masterbuilt MES 440S 40" - Question on the wood (smoke) heating element
The wood sits right on top of the heating element? Is that the way it supposed to be or did I get a unit that was not put together right? I would have thought that the wood would sit on the metal grate "above" the heating element.- starbaby

Masterbuilt 40" (20075315) on the way from Sam's for $229. MES 440S is on sale for $303. Keep the 20075315?
Yes the reviews are quite bad for the MES 440S. I am upgrading to the 40" from a MB 30". I can transfer the leg assembly and MB side smoker to the 40", I believe. https://www.samsclub.com/p/masterbuilt-40in-digital-electric-smoker/prod23220059 Talk me out of getting a new MES 440S for $303...- starbaby
