    Thinking some more about it, perhaps doing a rim of stainless angle, with expanded stainless in the middle might work well at first. I've seen some posts from other guys using expanded metal, and it seems to have worked OK. You can't get the criss cross pattern though.

    I've decided to put an angle to the reverse flow plate down the center to the drain. Anybody have suggestions as to the maximum angle I should do? I imagine if I make it too much of an angle it could cause unpredictability with the smoke flow.
