Well it's coming along slow but sure. Slide out rack took awhile but is done. Reflector plate has aluminum plates over them and can be removed and washed down.
I am all for saving money by getting wood both locally and from orchards....but.....it is pretty risky...local woods in stores is dried out, burn up fast and don't give as good of a flavor as Fruita Wood. Also....the wood from the orchard may have been sitting around for awhile...This leave is...
So your Calculation spread sheet says 4" exhaust 18.23" long
Feldons Say's 18.41
The new calculations say 23.65"
Now you say 36"
Are we finding new calcs to make our smokers better is this why so many variables
I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO confused just tell me a length to make it and I will do...
so if math is right then I have a 23.65 inch stack from the top of chamber using a 4" pipe
13508 cc X 0.022 = 297.198
0.7854 X 4= 3.1416 X 4 = 12.5664
297.198 divided by 12.5664 = 23.65
I plan on top mount so should I stick stack down in CC about 2"

setting it in CC about 2"
Dave if I don't build a plenum and do the alternate stack do I use the total length that I get when I use your calculator and how far off the grate is it placed
Dave: When I say elbow I'm talking about a long sweep elbow not the typical type of squared off elbow. This would be a sweeping effect in not bottling up in the cc.

Question about flue. I know the height I'm suppose to use according to the calculator sheet but where do you measure from. I'm using a 90 degree elbow out of the end of the cc so is it from the bottom of the elbow to top or what Thanks
