That's great to hear. I have a bag of char/hickory I haven't had a chance to try yet. I'm still sorting out cooking on these pellet grills, I have been a little nervous about overdoing the smoke. I had had great success with LJ cherry and competition blend pellets. Once the weather finally...
I'm still learning the pellet grill process personally, but mechanically speaking, my pro22 has been flawless. If I had to do over, I would have maybe gone with the Camp Chef and sear box. Maybe.
Once the weather gets nice, I plan to really put some miles on my Traeger. I tend to be fairly easy...
My local Rural King has Lumber Jack back in stock for $9.99/20#. Great pellets for a great price.
I might have to Amazon a bag of the char hickory pellets though.

Have you owned a pellet grill before? What is your grilling experience? If you have confidence your going to use the hell out of it, maybe the rectec is worth it.

I noticed ash in my Traeger the first couple cooks. Once things got seasoned up, I notice it a lot less. Get a little funk going and I bet you'll be ok.
I've had a Traeger Pro22 about two months. Loving it so far. Two of my neighbors have Traegers and love them. That helped me decide to spend a little extra.
Things seem very similar in the lower/mid price ranges. I think they probably all work the same, burn pellets...
