What part (or where) in Michigan? I hate the winter cold here (because I am getting older) but all in all it's a beautiful state with lots to see and do.

INKBIRD New Meat Thermometer for Trial!!

I'd love to try one as so far I have been unimpressed with my ThermPros & Yummlys.

    Roasted Green Chile Sausage

Better quality? Our local farm market, which is HUGE compared to most farm markets, sells Crystal Farms as their "house" cheese. It's much cheaper than all of the other brands of cheese that they sell, and they sell A LOT of cheese. I've always looked at it as the house brand like "Great...

    Silly question....

How does one place a signature at the bottom of their posts? Most everyone has one, but I haven't been able to figure out how to do that. Thanks!

    Any new Michigan Members?

You are correct, Alabaster is south of Tawas. It's been a while but I was over there once when the gypsum trolly system running out into the lake was still being used. Funny you mention try-tip. My wife (who may be a better cook than me) just grilled up a try-tip last night for dinner.

I haven't snooped around too much yet. It seems to be a very "busy" website with all the pop-up adds, etc. Kind of hard to navigate.

Well cool. I was just in Alpena a couple weeks back for work. I'm actually retired from the state (32 years) ands now I work for my bro-in-law. He does asbestos abatement and I went to Alpena to do a walk through of one of the buildings downtown to bid a job there. I always liked the area...

Following my truck driving days I went to work for the state for 32 years and retired at the end of December, 2023. I decided to collect my pension and get out. Now I work for my brother-in-law doing his payroll, accounts payable/receivable. It's pretty laid back and he is big into smoking too...

Gotcha. Would that be considered "Down River"? In past employment (in the 80s) I drove truck for a couple Lansing area companies and I have covered most every county in the state, but Trenton is one area that I never had a customer.

Thanks for the welcome. The first place I snooped around in was the Michigan members forum. I found 1 post from 2023, 1 post from 2022, and the rest were much older. I'm mostly looking for info on Michigan contests. I have to believe there are plenty out there, I just don't know where to...

Much appreciated. I just went to the "Michigan members" forum and it appears that the most recent post is from 2023. Dead forum? Where did you live in Michigan?

New member here (1/6/2025). Originally from Westphalia, I now live in Grand Ledge. I see most of the posts here are 5-6 years old. Is this forum still being used by anyone?

Finally! A smoking meat forum that isnt called "Reddit". I'm hopeful I'll get some good info here as opposed to the "Its my way or the highway" attitude you get in the Reddit forums. I've been smoking meat for better than 30 years but, as the website suggests, I'll start here. My name is Bob...
