Maiden voyage of the 120 gallon beast.

Now that my BBQ shack and patio are done, it's time to take the beast for a test-run. Doing 3 racks of spares with cherry wood. The patio. The shack. The BEAST.

    Not Feeling the Cherry Love...

I smoke with cherry quite a bit, in fact I'm picking up half a facecord tomorrow. I run it mixed with pear wood and it gives a nice, balanced flavor with great color. It's become my go to. Every once in a while if I want a more earthy profile I'll add a split of oak.

Charlie Kirk shot : update and killed

Similar here. Town of 500 or so in NE Wisconsin. Everyone is civil, waves, and helps when they can. It's how things should be, and the main reason I refuse to travel. My home is my paradise.

Thank you for that. And if this post of mine is against the forum rules, please feel free to remove it, but we need to get back to being able to have a discussion like adults and learn to agree to disagree without hate and violence. Shutting down discussion is what leads to the events we've been...

    Fishing Trip

Awesome! I live in an area with great walleye fishing, I just never seem to find the time to just unplug and go enjoy a day out on the water. I'm envious, nice catch!

    Today's project.

If I could I would have built that fence 30 feet tall, but township says 6 foot maximum, and I'm getting too old to be doing manual labor...I paid for this one with my back for nearly a week 😆 We have a crabby old man behind us that has called the police on nearly everyone on our block for one...

Charlie Kirk shot : update and killed

Well said, you hit every point in a classy way, and I'll just leave it at that. I had to edit this post as I was typing it as it would likely be seen as political, which I guess is a no-no. I believe this to be part of the problem in modern society...when it becomes taboo to talk about your...

Charlie Kirk shot : update and killed

I feel for you. My daughters are 11 and 7. The idea that someone can be assassinated for different views literally makes me sick. I grew up in a family with folks on both sides of the political spectrum. Holidays were entertaining as there were disagreements and name calling, but it was all in...

Charlie Kirk shot : update and killed

This one hits hard. The guy wanted nothing more than open debate and conversation. He was a father and husband, whose wife will no longer have her husband and kids will grow up without their father. As a father, I'm sad this is the world my kids will inherit.

Texas Brisket Kit?? Whats your Take?

My take on this is that it is not something I personally would buy, but may be a good option for someone lacking the expertise to pull off a brisket on their own. That is who this is marketed to, not someone with a wealth of bbq knowledge and experience. And as a former Texan, I also find it...

    Today's project.

Getting ready to move the 120 gallon rig...so incase anyone is wondering, when your smoker weighs in at over 900 lbs, this is what happens to solid Never Flat Tires. Oof.

    Burger Night. Chud-Style.

Happened to catch one of Chudley's videos yesterday making hatch chili burgers. They looked good....really good, enough to the point that I decided to make them tonight for our typical 'burger night' . So here it is.... Toasted seeded bun, mustard, lettuce, tomato, some spicy pickles, American...

    Today's project.

Nah, one of my side gigs started blowing up and need the space in the garage for equipment and inventory. Had to sacrifice the garage bar for business space, luckily I have the shed to move the fun stuff to so things won't be disrupted too much.
