    Christmas Prime 2

I know this isn't a prime rib that was cooked in the oven, but there are a lot of people on this forum helping me with this (see christmas prime rib), so I thought I would be courteous and post pictures of what I ended up doing. I made a blackened prime rib as follows: 3/4 cup brown sugar1...

    Christmas Prime Rib

Thanks everyone, but as I said above, I will just do it in the oven.  We are having Christmas this weekend with my family, and I have been here for a couple of days, so the cook and run idea wouldn't have worked.  I will start a new thread to post some pics of the meat (even though it's not a smoke)

    Christmas Prime Rib

So I am just going to do it in the oven.  Can anyone recommend a recipe?  I saw one on diners, drive-ins, and dives this past weekend, but they don't give the actual recipe.  Also I can't really remember it anyway.  All I can remember is that there was worchester sauce and I think brown sugar. ...

    Christmas Prime Rib

This actually makes me sad.  I really wanted to smoke a prime rib.  I figured that someone might have a good suggestion for me.... I picked up a 9lb rib on saturday.  They had a 13, but I didn't relly like the looks of the meat.  I was kind of flat, and if I am paying $8.29/lb, I want it to...

    Christmas Prime Rib

That is why I am asking!  I need all of the input I can get so that I can decide if it is even possible to do this. Maybe I can make some sort of disposable smoker, sort of in the Alton Brown style. (cardboard box and a hot plate)  He used this for cold smoking.  I wonder if you add a space...

    Christmas Prime Rib

We plan on getting one that is at least 10 pounds.  I will take your reccomendation for the au jus.  I don't want to cook it in the aujus though do I?  I don't want to give it a "boiled" texture.  Just put some in the pan when I warm it up and baste with it?  Really though, if you think it would...

    Christmas Prime Rib

I need your opinions.  My family has decided to "let" me cook a prime rib for our christmas day dinner.  The problem is, my parents live 2.5 hours from me and I will be going to there house 2 days before we eat.  The best thing would be to take the smoker along and cook it up there, but that is...

salmon, trout, and halibut (with pics)

I got the small one.  the others I need to deliver to my buddy.  The skin was crisp, but peeled back whole and revealed moist smoked fish.
