    250L build - now a 35? gallon build

Managed to get some work done yesterday. Got the chimney welded into place, cc door almost cut out (reciprocating saw blade died a third of the way across the bottom). Also got the cc door hinges on and a couple little pieces to keep the door from falling into the tank. Boy that chimney...

    250L build - now a 35? gallon build

Sounds good, I think I will move the chimney location and make the door wider. Might take it a hair past 12:00 on the tank too. I'll have to fill the holes in the top of the tank. Should be no problem if I can find a couple of hole saws the right size, then I can cut nice circles out of some...

Can you explain this one a bit more? How should I want the door to be beveled? Like this?

What?? is it to hot for ya

I don't know what you're talking about, I was quite productive on the weekend! I'm kind of hung up on the placement of my CC door right now... only get one chance to cut it and don't want to regret my decision. heh

Thanks, there are a couple of welding/fab shops in town that probably have a similar deal, I know one does. It's just tough getting down there because they're open the same hours I'm at work, and I don't have a truck so the pieces have to fit in my wife's van. heh.

    300g Tank

I hear you, that's exactly the boat I'm in, currently 18.5" WSM and building a bigger RF (not 300 gallons tho... only about 30-40) I figure if I can fit a small top rack in mine, I could get 2 butts, a brisket and a couple racks of ribs, figure 9-10x as much in yours at least... haha please...

Did you use your own calculations or just eye ball/gut feel it?

    250L build - now a 35? gallon build

Got a lot done today. The firebox is done (except for door latch and handles on air intakes) and is attached to the tank. I have the chimney and CC door location marked out but am still not 100% on their placement. I think I should move the chimney over towards the end a bit to widen the door...

    250L build - now a 35? gallon build

Well didn't get as much done as I had hoped (not by a long shot... haha) but after 2 trips to the store, finding tools, etc. I did manage to get some welding done. Spent the whole time cutting and attaching the pieces that will contain the sliding door/cover for my air intake on the firebox. I...

    250L build - now a 35? gallon build

I've been searching around here and the web in general trying to find some general info on when/why someone would burn out the cook chamber, and the proper way to go about seasoning it before cooking in there. If there is an FAQ on it somewhere I missed please let me know, I'd love to read it...
