    New smoker idea

Is it safe to make a pit out of a oil container? I was always told that if it wasn't air or non-treated water that it's not a good thing to do.

    road tested my pit /pics

After a week of rain and nasty weather we had a nice sunny warm day so we did a road test on my pit today to see how she tows. It didn't feel like anything was behind the truck so that is a good thing. Only thing left is to install the electric brakes...

If you go one door you will probably need counterweights or strong arms. I like the 2 doors different size idea though.

    pit construction modification pic

The LP burners will be the last thing we install. I'm thinking we might have to do with a smaller wood box because I want a sink behind the rollout grill. We'll figure something out though. I'm thinking about putting the low pressure burners at the front when we install the rest of the deck...

    pit construction modification pic

No, the support doesn't retract under the trailer....we have it where it swings to the side of the trailer on a hinge and pin it in place so it won't swing around when I'm driving.

    pit construction modification pic

We had to modify that rollout grill and make it shorter. I was thinking it was a little to tall on friday and I think the other two guys were thinking the same thing so we cut it down about 4 inches. We figured it would help cut down on the weight...

New Build -Trailer mounted reverse flow smoker

All I can say is sweeeeeet! My pit is still underconstruction and my only regret is that I didn't at least insulate my firebox but it is 3/8" so it will heat up that thing good but it won't be as efficient as yours. Good work!
