No, I didn't look at that site but now I wish I had.
I got impatient and ordered a pair of these 'hybrid' (?) probes off Amazon that had high ratings and everybody said they worked fine on the ET-732. But that Amazen site had the original Maverick probes as a pair even cheaper. And...
Both my probes appear shot and have tried all the troubleshooting tips at Maverick's site. They do not appear to carry the 3' probes although I am just fine with that as I have built side tables and such to where a 6' would have too much wire getting in the way.
Where can I find quality 3'...
Hey buddy, how did it go? Figure it out? Unfortunately this propane subforum doesn't get much traffic. I guess most of the propane guys hang out on a different forum. I am not sure which one has an active propane group.
You may want to read up on how some of these regulators work. They seem to...
It just looks that way - trust me, I have adjusted it a ton of times after also making sure the tube isn't clogged with spider web or anything. I have used a long screw driver to loosen the screw, turn the vent to achieve optimum blue flame, then tighten it down.
I also tried replacement...
Thanks for the pic. Is that a 0 to 5 psi regulator? I had a 20 psi regulator with a needle valve but found the needle valve was super sensitive at those pressures. The tiniest movement caused substantial changes in the output.
I don't necessarily fault you. It's nice when you can see lots of stuff posted online. That way, if you do encounter something troublesome, you can probably find a workable solution somewhere that has already been thought out.
Where dd you see it for $249? Lowes was $299 I think.
I'm still a...
I have already given that some thought :) ...but feel I would want an offset smoker if I go charcoal. I did not like my charcoal and wood directly underneath everything in my WSM. The 3405GLA wasn't expensive and I don't feel I will be out much if I go with a new smoker. I got my money's worth...
flywatt,
I happen to see the Oklahoma Joe Highland at Lowes this morning. It caught my eye, but the more I looked the more I was put off by the inconsistent construction. Maybe mine was an exception and not the norm but this one had things welded together unevenly. Like high on one end and low...
Oh, and I am in Virginia.
I don't mind paying for quality, but I think the features I am looking for can be met with a Dyna-Glo class/price smoker. But still curious about what else is out there since there seems to be so many brands and sometimes good deals can be had.
My limited knowledge/research on stickburners suggests a beginner like me would have to tend the fire more frequently than I want and more actively manage the heat. I have had good success with sustained steady heat from both charcoal and propane so figured I might get frustrated easily with a...
Hey folks,
My first smoker was a Weber Smoky Mountain, great little smoker but I didn't like lifting up the grates and sections to access food and such. I then bought a GOSM propane vertical smoker and really liked the way the door provided easy access to all food. My gosm is getting old and...
I put the Bayou M5HPR-1 on my gosm 3405GLA and fired it up. Yes, this higher pressure regulator can put out the heat when you crank it up like you would want on a turkey fryer or largee smoker. I have the needle valve set very low and it is quite touchy and not giving me the precise control and...
Yes, my gosm has the standard factory adjustment knob on it but itisn't very precise, hence my interest in this repalcement regulator setup with the needle valve.
I took a close look at my manifold today. It says 1/2 PSI, so I am worried this Bayou Classic unit at 10 PSI is going to provide...
Yep, still a bit muddy. Sounds like it is not the right one, but then you said the one on top will work :(
I also see another one - doesn't have the needle valve but looks like it is adjustable (which I think was the point of the needle valve). This one says 0-5 psi adjustable (model M5HPR)...
