    I have three of the non-adjustables and they work well enough for me. I'm not going to upgrade, but if I had to do it all over again, I'd buy the adjustable ones. For the price, they are good. The $6 char-broil that I bought from lowes for my kettle lasted less than a year. These still work.

    Mine was just spot welded and it did put up a little resistance, but came out quite easily. It did bend the side ever so slightly, but I was able to bend it back into shape! sorry about your ordeal! :(
