    I trim the fat off. Why? Rub doesn't stick to fat. Takes longer to cook. Smoke doesn't penetrate the fat. My opinion.

    Bulk Buy | Kansas City Area | Pellets

    I usually run 100% Hickory pellets but I wanted to try adding some 100% fruitwood to the mix.  The only way I would do this is to buy it by the skid, otherwise the price is silly. I have confirmed pricing for an entire skid of fruitwood pellets but that's 100 x 20lb bags, way too much for me...
