I talked with a Treager salesman at the Bakersfield Costco in January. Told him how disappointed I am with the product. He called me later and told me a couple of things to try when I got back home. Tried them and I'm still running 350-360 on the readout with the control set as high as it...
Carpetride, thanks. I now have 2 Traegers, lil tex and the junior with the tailgate kit.(Birthday present) Both grills have the upgraded temp control and both cook differently. Temp control seems to swing about 25 degrees boths sides of where I have them set. That being said I use one or the...
Good question, I'd like any info on them as well. I currently own a lil tex and it has done a good job overall, just not real happy with the temp control or the companies response to some of the issues I've had. I'll be looking at a Green Mountain later this week and am gonna ask if by any...
Had my chat with Traeger yesterday. Let's just leave it with my final statement to them before I hung up, "Sir you can rest assured that I'll NEVER own another Traeger product as long as I live".
I have my lil Tex running now and the temps are holding fairly close. With it set at 250 it's running a little over 265. So far so good today, got a batck of Halibut in it for a light smoke.
Well if you really, REALLY want to know, right now I think it's a piece of sh!t. While I haven't had the heat problems that others here mentioned, I am pretty disgusted with something that costs as much as these units do and performs as poorly as they seem to. While I've used my lil Tex with...
Just a bit of a rant here about these grills. I've been using the lil Tex for a bit over a year and have had mostly great luck with it. However on 2 occasions it has over smoked the meat. Actually turned it into Creosote Coated Crap. (Even though I didn't have the unit set to smoke either...
Thanks, my bad. For some reason I just did not see the 3lbs of Chicken line in the recipe. Going to Skin and Bone out 6 chickens next week and want to try this sausage recipe with the meat.
I'm thinking that if you drop them into boiling water (blanch)for 15-20 seconds, then into cold water you could then peel them quickly and easily. Then into the smoker should give them a great flavor fairly quickly. Then use them in just about anything.
