    Tip for crispy bacon weave on fatties

    I just threw the fatty in a frying pan after cooking and crisped up the bacon a touch.

    I plug mine into an extension cord and itll get over 275 easy inside. Maybe I got lucky and got a good one?

    Itll help until the new stuff arrives, also, do not soak the chips! I soaked some of mine about 10 seconds, then dumped the water out of the chips, just to slow it down for experimenting. But if you soak them for 30 minutes like it says, you wont get any smoke.

    Masterbuilt on here has never gotten back to me, just call masterbuilt and be done.

    Search around, some of these have an issue burning chips, so masterbuilt will send you a free upgrade for the chip tray and the box it slides into if yours is one of the problem ones.  Mine only works after I cut it open and use dry chips. The upgrade seems to make it work better.

    On your seasoning, dont wet the chips, and call Masterbuilt about the chip tray free upgrade if you need it. I modified my tray until the new one arrives.  But having fun so far! Hmm, what to make next!

    Wow, it was fantastic, took 3:15 at 240 degree setting from cold (didnt preheat the smoker), used apple chips, wife brined it overnight in something she came up with. It was  A W E S O M E !

    Here ya go, not a major mod, and still doesnt cure the issue, but helps. Those are the chips, lightly soaked in water (maybe 1 minute) and in the smoker for 3hrs at 200*

    Agree'd Smoke, pisses me off to see people waste meat and animals. Sure, Id send ya some if you want, haha. Truth be told, its pretty easy really. I cheat and just use store bought jerky stuff, cut the duck breasts into layers, season them overnight, smoke them till they get to 160* with some...
