I am thinking of investing in the Dutch Oven Table. You can get them through Cabelas. I think that would be a good way to cook with them. I have the Lodge Dutch Oven cooking video and have watched it, but that was when I first got it. I guess I need to watch it again, they have a few good...
Is there alot of good recipes here for dutch oven cooking? I bought a Lodge Dutch oven about a year ago with big ideas of cooking in it but have yet to use it. Another thing the wife told me I was nuts for. But after seeing a few posts here about Lodge cast iron I figured there is probably alot...
Oh yea I forgot one. We redid our landscaping in the front of the house and the wife asked what kind of tree we could plant in it. I told her a cherry tree so when it gets to big and gets to close to the house I have plenty of smoking wood on hand for a while. Needless to say she doesnt know the...
You hit the nail on the head there Ron. You really do realize the blessings you have more so around this time of year. I had to put my dad in the hospital after lunch on Christmas Day, and as sad as it is to do that on Christmas, I realized that we at least got to have Christmas with him and the...

I was lucky enough to get a new Smart BBQ remote thermomter, Smart BBQ Grill Light for those night time sessions, a new Mossy Oak Camo Apron that says "Kill it and Grill it" sister-in-law thought that suited me after bagging my deer opening morning and smoking the straps the next day. Set of new...
Well I had asked a couple people on here about smoking this deer ham with it being a very lean meat. Several people said to wrap it with bacon to keep it from drying out. Well I didn't do any of that. I had to try something different. The way I did it was I soaked it in a brine for about 8 days...

I bought a 7 lb. breast to start out with. I have never smoked a turkey either, I have always deep fried them. I think I will start out small for my first one. Don't want to screw it up the first time out.
What I did was I soaked it in a brine over night of kosher salt and Jeff's rub. Then I took it out of the brine and sprinkled the rub all over the loin generously covering. Then I smoked it about 1 hour with Wild Cherry and then turned it over and let it go for another hour. After about 2 hours...
Here is a Deer Loin I did yesterday for a Christmas dinner. This makes the 7th loin I have done. I have changed hard core friers of venison over to smoked.
