1st) Find some doors (online) for wood burning stoves. You can find some really nice looking doors and they will be TONS!!! cheaper than trying to have some special order doors cast for you.
2nd) Build your smoker around the doors!

Have some doors fabricated...
Dave, I came across a 1/2 in thick 2'X2' plate. I plan to use it as a deflector right over the firebox opening. Do you think it will work? Or if it is a good idea?
DaveOmak gave me this site. It is a calculator for building a smoker. You can just enter the gallons of the tank rather than the dimensions.

I would say the design should be a direction to head.... not necessarily a destination. You could move the fire box closer and make the opening into the cooking chamber alittle larger. Just be sure to build it so you can control the air flow to the fire, the exhaust from the cooking chamber...
