Just Kidding....
Used a 70/30 mix of pork shoulder and chuck. 6lb batch with the following for the hot links.
Didn't use the MSG and subbed Instacure 1 instead of TQ. Also used 12oz water instead of beer.
The Chorizo was from a sausage book my buddy has. I'll get the recipe and post that as...
My first run at sausage tonight. Made some Texas Hot Links on the right and Chorizo on the left. Fried up a piece of each before stuffing and they taste amazing!!! I'm hooked forever!
Well, after much deliberating and research, my plan has gone to the way side and will need to be reconfigured. The oil tank idea is out the window as I have located a 250 gallon propane tank to use. I'm glad this happened as I was concerned with the thickness of the oil tank and I know how...
Not too concerned with ground clearance. I'm planning on building this on a cart with 8" tires welded to the underside of the cart frame. The FB will "rest" on the base of the frame and be 8-10" off the ground. With the tires, cart and height of the tank, the top will be at 72-74" which puts the...
That's what I was thinking as well!
So I'll be using 1/4" for the FB and RF plate, 1/8" for the WB. Was thinking of 8" OD ERW pipe for the exhausts. Expanded flattened steel 3/4x9 for the grates. 1" square tubing for the grate frames. And a whole bunch of 1 1/2" angle and 1/8" flat bar.
Am I...
Gotcha! Thanks Dave!
Actually, quick question about the type of steel to use. I'm planning on using 1/4" for the FB and warming box. What type of sheet steel would you recommend?
Dave,
Thanks for checking on the calculations. I have a few more questions:
When figuring the actual cu in of the CC, do you deduct the space that will be used up by the RF plate or are you taking using the entire interior to get the proper calculations?
I plan to have 3 racks inside the CC...
I used the Feldons website and selected the "Tank Cook Chamber" option when I originally calculated the cu in. Then I used the interior dimensions using the .7854 formula to get the result I did. There is an option for a "Cylinder-Type" cook chamber which I would assume would be the circle tank...
