I decided to sear, reason is that I am going to make it two and two later, fitting 4 packers in there of 15lb each is virtually impossible.
this will cut my cooking time in half more or less. The wife will give me a big block gas smoker from bass pro shop next week for fathers day(yes late but...
well, just finished rubbing the meat here are a couple of pics to get started will start it in the morning, fist time using an afterburner in my char griller too, we'll see how it goes. theres 4 just like this baby already in the fridge, more pics to come tomorrow.
Lets vote, I'll do...
I ordered the BB from bass pro. As for the brisket well, I just want to know if I can fit 4 of them in there, I don't care if I have to pick smaller briskets as long I don't have to cut them.
hey guys, one quick questions for you guys, I have been smoking for quite a while now but this is my first gas smoker, always for me it has been the side fire box smokers.
this next saturday I need to make 4 packer briskets, do you guys think this has enough space for it or do I need to split? ...
well its 3:00am here and I have 6 briskets in two chargrillers pro along with a couple of racks of ribs. The first 3 hrs were hell. The temperature all of a sudden dropped like crazy and the wind was blowing coooold, needless to say I was going crazy tryig to keep the temperature up.
At one...
Wood and lump charcoal, I've always used that and seems to work., nothing special really. When I was doing the sear it got a little hot, I think it was 150 or so. After putting the brisket on the cooking side, closed the firebox and got to 250+ pretty quick.
ok guys here is what I did with my char-griller pro. I took the pictures before using the mods so you guys could see the contrasting in color and see exactly how they look at fit. I installed the flex tube just like a lot of guys did in here. The pictures might help people know how to do it...
mine was too cold, so before getting them, I was cooking at temps way too high and my food was coming out dry or overcooked. Try that method, I'm sure you will like it, best of all is that its free.
ohhh one more thing I forgot to mention is that if you get a charcoal basket or make one you...
guys, I got 3 bags or cowboy lump today from lowes. I know a lot of people here don't like this brand. I've been reading a lot of bad reviews about it, is it really that bad? If it burns fast like everyone says, it will do me no good in my smoking since i'm doing briskets.
If you guys think...
hello Jay. I have the same grill as you do, for those hotspots close to the firebox, like busted said, just turn the charcoal holder upside down, for the exhaust just buy a 3inch flexible tube (the ones you use for the dryer) bring it down to meat level, that should help you regulate...
yea thats what I did with the rub for the 4 briskets im doing this weekend, Increased the chilly, both kinds. It'll take a while to get the perfect taste but like you said, i'll just make the recepie my starting point and work from there. thanks guys
