    I use a drop or two in my chili, however some store bought hams are overpowering with it, I think.

    Thanks Chef, I used 2T salt and 1/4 cup sugar, nice big sprig fresh dill, If I have a shot of Vodka when I eating it would that be the same? I will rinse a taste.

    Those sound great, I do somthing like that. I partially cook the bacon first so the steak just gets done medium.

    Oh yes, From N.Y. to California. Some outstanding and some not so good. Being in the military for 20+ year I was able to sample food from a lot of different cultures.

    First a long green Pyrax glass dish, then a plastic dish covered with foil to keep fish out of the juice that will run off. then the fish, just about a pound for my first try in plastic wrap, then a clean brick also in foil to weigh it down.

    I have had my Traeger for almost a year now. I had it really catch fire one time, a lot of pellets had accumulated in the fire pot and spilled out , catching fire. Now after EACH use I vacuum the unit, body and fire pot. I bought the $20 shop vac head and a five gal pail at Home Depot. Never...

    Made mine tonight. bowl on botton, one covered with foil, salmon rubbed and wrap with plastic wrap, now don't laugh. One site said to cut a corner so the water can run out, well I cut s corner and inserted a straw for the water to run out. oh, yes a brick on top. Looks like 'lunch on Friday.

    Have not used the salt yet, never did it before but tonight I'm going to try to make some lox and it called for some regular salt and smoked salt. I will let you know in about 4 days when I get a bag of real bagles (if I can fine them)and, some cream cheese.

    Just in case someone wants to know. Smoked some salt today. Put Traeger Jr. on "smoke" setting. it stayed between 190 and 200. Never used this setting before, always used 180 or 225.

    KC5TPS. Not Army , Air Force 1955 to 1975. Yep I'm an old guy. Was in Security Police. Ate some C rations, Ate off the back of a mess hall truck while on post and in a nice warm mess hall. I am proud of each and every one of our military brothers and sister what ever branch they served in.
