New 500 gallon RF trailer build

A single door and counter weight it or build out and do two square doors that swing out.

New 500 gallon RF trailer build

You could do a 50" wide door that is what I have on Bahama Mama.

New 500 gallon RF trailer build

What is the horizontal distance between the dome welds. IE how long a door could you have? The 12.26 is the distance between the top of your 2" bridge and your top cut. Crude drawing but it works lol. 17.66" should be about the width of your bridge. 37.875 should be about the width of your...

Good looking trailer Eighty Second I like it. :)  Here is what I came up with on the calculator based on your tank dimensions. Link to BBQ Pit Calculator For your firebox to cooker chamber opening look at this. 37.875Top width of cut-out.: 17.664Bottom width of cut-out: 12.268Height of...

    Pork belly smoker

Nice looking smoker. :)  I noticed the position of your hinge point appears to be right over your top door cut. If you plan on using outside door flanges they may hit on the top when you try to open the door.

    Uds stopped overnight

So you need to ask yourself what the difference was in the two cooks. You maintained 325° to cook birds but on this butt you had all intakes open and were maintaining 225°.

    Uds stopped overnight

Is this your first cook on this drum? The reason I ask is I looked at your pic and I see you have two what appears 3/4" exhausts. That may not be enough exit air to maintain combustion in the drum.  The lump or charcoal question was if charcoal your burning coals may have suffocated in their...

Offset build with 34in diameter pipe

Just block up the trailer cut the axle loose and re-position the hangers. Worse case you will need a new set of hangers.

Offset build with 34in diameter pipe

Great looking cooker I like it. :) From the pic it appears you have zero tongue weight. You could move the axle as far back as you can this will help some.

My first attempt at a build.

Your welds look fine to me. Unless you are wanting full penetration a gap is not necessary in your vee weld. If you want a "Clean no weld" look then grind down your welds you are thinking correctly by creating the vee to allow enough penetration so that you can clean up your weld but still...
