    Tell me which set up will produce the most heat. I have the fire box damper open and the stack open. I use about two chimmeny stacks of lump to start.

    The Target brand is a Char Broil with a side fire box, it looks great, but I have been unable to get it up to 250 degrees. I have the grill in an L shape corner outside  of the house.     I have a smokers that I got from Target that I paid 150.00 dollars for. I have been unable to get it to 250 degrees. I am thinking of buying a yoeder smoker for 849.00 dollars. Can anyone tell me if this will work. New to smoking.

    Jim, my problem is not enough heat, I would like to cook at 250 for six hours. It may be hard to raise the fire in the fire box,but are you saying closing the stack will make the fire hotter. Craig

    I am very new to smoking and have a smoker with the fire box on the side. I am having the same problem with keeping the temp up. I would like to cook at about 250. Can anyone tell me how to keep the temp at 250 for 6 hours. Explain it to me like I am 6 years old. Craig
