Max temp for Smokin Tex 1400?
Please note the factory control is limited to 250°. I would be surprised if this unit did not have a safety device to turn off the heater should the primary thermostat stick. You may or may not have removed it from the circuit. I would want an over temp safety in my circuit. Does this unit...- walta

I can’t tell from the photo was the low voltage cable with 4 small wires damaged? To my eye the defect was a poor connection from a heater or power cord wire where it attaches to the circuit board. To me it seems clear the number of failures is too high. Masterbuilt needs to redesign this...- walta

It takes very little to set off a GFIC, a damp connection can trip the GFIC. Heating up the smoker may dry it so it will work again with the GFIC. Please be aware the GFCI tripped for a reason. Try setting the smoker to 250° for 2 hours and then try the GFCI again. It may well work after it gets dried out. My guess is the lawyers wrote this line of the manual. If enough fat were to drip directly on the heating unit and the fatty meat was close to the heater.
