I think back ribs take around the same time you mentioned for spares. If they start getting too dark you can wrap them with some liquid. Probe tender test will let you know when they are ready though.
I recently got a set of rubs in the mail and one of them was a coffee/chile rub. Good stuff, if anyone doesn't want to make their own I would suggest giving Albukirky rubs a look.
To be fair the user reviews seem great. The issue that Amazingribs took issue with was a metal plate that burns through near the insulation. Masterbuilt released a statement saying that this was on purpose and the metal was only put there to protect the firebrick during shipping. People that...
1. PK Grill. I got the PKTX about 8 months ago and I have used that little booger almost daily since.
2. Hunsaker Drum. I got that a little over a year ago and it is a very easy to use and high quality smoker. Only wish I would have spent the extra do-re-mi to get the stainless steel version...
Although I am not looking to purchase any pellet grills I have read a bunch about them. People seem to love Rec Tec. There have long been complaints about the paint on the Yoders. If I were going to spend what it costs to get the Yoder on the comp cart I would probably go with a MAK instead.
Have you tried cooking on it stock? I understand that temp swings can be unnerving because I felt the same way at one point. Then I was doing a large cook at someone else's house and had to throw a wrapped pork butt in a kitchen oven to finish. I left the probe in the butt until it was done and...
I bought the PB Copperhead 5 on clearance from Walmart for $109. If it did crap out on me I wouldn't have been upset considering the price. It has worked fine, but I could probably use it more often. Really like the capacity for jerky
I started with propane smokers and like you I was constantly making adjustments. I got a needle valve and it did help. I eventually learned two things. There is no need to freak out about reasonable temp swings, typical ovens swing 30 degrees in either direction. I also learned that propane...
I know I have mentioned Hunsaker already, I don't have any investment in them other than being a customer. I would suggest giving them a call with a question like this. When you call the number there is a very good chance that you will be on the phone with the owner of the company. That dude is...
You might consider checking out the Hunsaker website if you are needing supplies to finish your build. They sell SS kits and parts. Good people to do business with too.
