Hi guys, I've actually managed to get the Friday and Saturday off work so I may be able to attend. (Pending discussion with my better half of course) Even if I can't camp I'll certainly pop up on the Saturday for a few hours to meet everyone

    Weber kettle help

That is hugely helpful, many thanks :) I've managed to find the original 57cm on offer for £99 at Homebase so I think I'll go for that and buy the grate separately, as it still works out cheaper. That's if they still have it in stock on my day off! Cheers for the great advice :)

    Weber kettle help

So my wife has been nagging at me to get a new BBQ, (for some reason she thinks half a beer barrel on the floor is "ugly") I figure I might as well go with a Weber kettle so I can smoke on it too. The question is, which one? I figure the biggest they do is a good start, so it'll be the 57cm one...

    My new toy has arrived

Awesome Wade! I've always wanted to smoke lamb, it's a bit expensive to cock up though haha, a nice mint and garlic rub, chuck some Rosemary on the coals for a bit more flavour, I really must get round to it!

3rd time lucky? Adventures in pulled pork.

It's done. I must say the heat beads really do make a difference, I got a 12.5hr smoke out of a 4kg bag and the pork came out great. I tried a new rub however with fresh herbs and garlic and I think the moisture in them prevented a proper bark forming. I did get one which was tasty but it wasn't...

Cheers Wade, that makes me feel better, this smoke seems to be my most consistent so far, the heat beads really are awesome!

3rd time lucky? Adventures in pulled pork.

Wondering if I can get a word or two of advice? I'm using wood chips wrapped in foil for smoke, these are fine initially when I put them on, nice thin blue smoke, after a while however, the smoke becomes thick and white and I have to pull the parcel off. Anyone know why that's happening and...

3rd time lucky? Adventures in pulled pork.

No kidding! I've finally got the smoker down to a more reasonable temperature. Pork's just gone on with a mixture of apple and hickory. Wouldn't you know it, it started raining. Was only a drizzle though so I'm hoping that's it :S

3rd time lucky? Adventures in pulled pork.

So, having got back off holiday, I couldn't wait to break the smoker out. I Got some Heat Beads the other day and I was itching to try them as I've heard good things, what can I say? First of all, Holy crap these things burn well and hot. I chucked 3/4 of a chimney into my cheapo bullet and the...

Where do you get your supplies from?

I've been smoking with wood chips up until now but I want to try wood chunks as people seem to prefer using them. (Although I have just picked up 2 more bags of chips that I spotted cheap in TK Maxx). With that in mind where do you get your smoking supplies? Wood, charcoal e.t.c. I know there...

I'm back, and the smoker is out!

Cheers guys, the pork was spot on, the rub maybe needs a little refining but I'm pleased with it for a first go. I hope to make it to the smokers meet as it's just down the road from me, just have to see if I can get the time off work!
