    My door gap is just a hair over 1/2 inch. There are two different thped of that gasket. The one i got is called foam rubber.     I never really wanted to use the rope, even though that's what I originally bought. I searched around for a while before finding the website I bought this stuff on. It should seal up much better and not let water through. Since i will be leaving the fridge either outside or in outside storage...

    No problem. It should go smooth. Cutting ends at 45 degree angles to square them up. Running bead if rtv and using masking tape to hold in place as I mount, close the door and wait 24 hours before opening it back up.

    I got 3/4 silicone d-shaped seal from mcmaster-carr. It works better than the rope.

    I ordered some high temp silicone 3//4 inch d shape seal from mcmastercarr.com. It will seal better than the rope.
