Quick update - all went to plan - smoked using my foraged oak and chipping for 3 hours
Lots of smoke
Around 150 C
After 3 hours - got a great crust... now back in slow cooker for 5 hours
Internal temp around 95 c - just opened it up and as you can see a lovely smoke ring and tastes...
A little follow on to this - just picked up some lumpwood from B&M for £ 4 for a 5kg bag - think the brand is Lazy BBQ - not the biggest lumps but it burns very well to the extent I'm finding it hard to keep temp down on my smoking today
I'm trying a different method tomorrow - over the winter I cooked Pulled Pork in a Slow Cooker for around 10 hours which came out great - therefore I'm trying this in combo with the Smoker.
ready to go with a little onion ( and water) in bottom of slow cooker.....
Just rubbed down Pork ready...

I agree with the above - however I do a little twist as I'm not that hard core when it comes to smoking so I tend to combine the smoker and kitchen oven.
e.g. with the Ribs yes do them in the smoker for the 3 hours but I then just switch to a normal oven for...
Wasn't that big just close to camera !!
Gave it half hour rest under foil.and towel.and we literally tore it apart with.our fingers and put it in wraps ... was on a bit of a schedule but will leave it longer next time if I can...
... realise it's not strictly Smokin but you can't beat a silly photo...
However without the group i wouldn't have had the confidence to cook chicken on a BBQ - even on a gas grill - went down well served it with Danny's Pot Salad and the Wicked Beans but not too wicked !
Yep have done the beans before so think that's a good thing with a bit of salad and the pot salad
Might do the totiilos .. what I do with them is to heat them straight over the gas hob (or now on my gas grill side burner) for around 20 seconds each side just so they start to smoulder.... not a...
BBChicken is planned for saturday but weather is looking pretty iffy for Saturday so it might be a indoor oven job but if it's okay that's a Gas Grill thing not smoked as time is tight Saturday.
It's a really easy thing to make - I posted a thread on it doing it in the oven but it'sd a good one...
