Got a new tank, now what do I do with it?

DK, It won't be started for a while.  I am still doing mods to my other one.  I am going to take my time with this one.  I learned a lot on the other and will be doing thing different on this one.  This is another practice build in prep for my next 250 build in the spring to replace my current...

Got a new tank, now what do I do with it?

Lug, The smoke out the bottom of the rocket could be done pretty easy with a pipe running from top to bottom on the inside and a powered chimney fan sucking the smoke from the top and shooting it out the bottom.  Throw and rheostat on there and you will be able to control your draw.   That...

Got a new tank, now what do I do with it?

haha, alright. I think I will have to pass on the rocket deal.  The wife would have a fit with that thing sitting outside.  I think I am going to go with the smaller version.  I will be cutting 2ft off and dropping it down as the firebox.  It will be mounted on a very small trailer with a...

It's time for my 250 build

Lookin Great.  I have noticed that if you want those style handles, buying cheap chippers is the way to go.  A lot cheaper than buying the grips buy them selves.  Also found some cheap fireplace tools that had them also and those had long shafts to work with.  I will be doing the same thing on...

    Which way to buil it?

Personally I think that is a perfect tank to lay down and throw a SFB on there.

Got a new tank, now what do I do with it?

I see your points.  I will always have a big rig.  I plan on building a new big one in the spring and selling the big one I have now.  Heck, its probably for sale now.  I am leaning more towards the smaller one.

Got a new tank, now what do I do with it?

Picked up a 100 gallon LP tank this morning and I am not quite sure what I want to do with it.  It's roughly 6ft x 2ft.  My first thoughts were to make a patio smoker out of it.  I was going to cut 2ft off the tank and drop that section down and use it as the firebox.  Then after looking at the...

This was too funny! TLC Channel in Wikipedia...(for Pitmaster fans)

I was flipping threw the channels late last night and came across Pitmasters.  It was half over but I still thought I would get to watch some good cooking in the last half hour of the show.  Now this is the first time I have been able to catch an episode this year.  Where was the BBQ and the...

It's Finally Done, My New 300gal RF Trailer

d-mac The grates are just angle iron welded in a frame with expanded metal welded inside.  The bottom rack has a couple pieces of angle crossing in the middle for added support. The burner is partially made.  I had purchased the venturi from Tejas Smokers and put a piece of pipe on it for the...

reverse flow baffle plate to grate distance?

I don't think you really want the RF plate too close to the cooking surface.  The radiant heat off the plate may cook the meat to fast or unevenly.

Had a little spare time to work on my reverse flow's

Very nice.  With that Sch40 pipe, you could probably grind it down enough to make it look like a smooth bend.  Well done.
