Greetings back to California.
I have friends there.
That sounds really interesting, I'll have to try it out.
Apart from that, a real Bavarian Schweinshaxe is from the wood-fired oven is best prepared by grandma :-)
But the principle is the same, low n slow and then conjure up a really nice...
I knew that wood was treated like that, but I didn't associate it with BBQ.
But that's a good point, of course, and it makes me even more convinced that I'll stick to local wood.
As I've already mentioned, it makes things a lot easier and cheaper.
What you write really reassures me.
In Germany, large companies and a lot of advertising strongly promote the fact that it has to be Hickory or Mesquite.
But apart from chips, this is very difficult to get and then very expensive.
The fact that oak and beech can be used in exactly the same way...
Do you like beech in general or for a specific cooke?
Because I've read a lot of reports: "Beech is great on ham."
I live in Bavaria, Germany and it is difficult to get the usual woods from America.
I would therefore like to use local woods such as beech, oak and cherry.
Thanks for pointing out the calculator.
But that's another topic.
For the air inlets, I would have used a rectangular slider design.
That way, the inlet is wide and not too high.
Thank you, that makes it clear.
So I was a bit too precise with the cross section under the RF plate.
The cross...
Thanks for the tip, I hadn't thought of that.
It makes sense that the FB/CC opening needs to be adjusted accordingly.
Now I have to go a little deeper into the design of the FB/CC opening.
Dave writes in the tutorial that the opening, the cross-section under the RF plate and the gap at the end...
The knowledge gathered here is really impressive.
My smoker should have a round CC and a round FB with the same diameter.
Which FB/CC opening is best for this?
Green cut-out area or football shape?
Thanks for these useful reports.
I think it shouldn't be a problem for me then. The reports I found on Thermowork vs Fireboard are fairly balanced.
Is the graphical representation a useful aid?
I imagine it would be practical.
I would also like to get a thermometer and my choices are the Thermoworks Smoke X4, Singals and the Fireboard 2.
The Smoke X4 would have the advantage for me that the handheld receiver does not work via WiFi but via radio frequency.
As I will often be on the other side of the house when smoking...
Thank you very much for the warm welcome.
The guide from Daveomak has already clarified the basic questions, now it's time to get down to the details of the planning.
I was on a road trip in Colorado in June, it was breathtaking...the food and the nature
That's true, but for us it's the other...
Hi,
my name is Alex and I´m from Bavaria, Germany.
On some trips to the states I learned to love smoked meat.
I like to cook, grilling and welding, so it was a logical conclusion to
built a smoker by my own.
Now I´m here and looking forward to find many tips and tricks.
Alex
