Had the urge for a leg of lamb...

It would appear pig is a no, but sheep (lamb) is a yes. Deuteronomy 14. " 3 Don’t eat anything the Lord hates. 4 Here are the only animals you can eat. You can eat oxen, sheep, goats, 5 deer, gazelles, roe deer, wild goats, ibexes, antelope and mountain sheep. 6 You can eat any animal that...

Looking to replace my Masterbuilt PRO smoker

Totally understand the grill, and I have yet to use my 590 for "grilling". Yes, it can get up to 400+ degrees, but at the cost of a whole lot of pellets for a very short cook? No thanks, propane is the most cost effective solution and the quickest. I don't have to wait 30 min to get my grill...

Had the urge for a leg of lamb...

Thank you! I really got into lamb when I stayed a few months in Israel. Stayed in Tel Aviv and commuted to Ashdod... they really know how to do lamb in the middle east. I'm really surprised to hear so many people don't like lamb? I just have to wonder if they've just never had it properly...

Had the urge for a leg of lamb...

Absolutely go for it! I was craving it. I've seen the garlic slivers inserted, that's pretty excellent too. I was just feeling lazy this time. I'm surprised to see so many people here say that they are the only ones who eat lamb. Curious, do people not like lamb?

Looking to replace my Masterbuilt PRO smoker

I have the 590 as well, and am quite impressed with the quality compared to similar pellet grills. Traeger and them don't even come close. RecTec is a middle upper class product, with emphasis on upper. You best break it out of the box soon! My 590 will do 6 racks, maybe more. I haven't...

Had the urge for a leg of lamb...

Good morning! Yesterday, I had an urge for lamb. The sweet nature of the meat and tenderness of a filet had me hooked. Of course, wife rolls her eyes and wishes me luck, but always seems to enjoy the end result. Here goes: Started with an upper leg portion. Removed some hard fat and removed...

    First Spatchcock Attempt...Question

I recommend the bird directly on the grates. I would avoid having it over the coals, direct heat is not what you want for a smoke. Putting it over the coals is called grilling. At 265, you are probably looking at 4 hours. If you amp it up to 350 you can do it in less than 2... but since you...

My little buddy has gone to the great BBQ in the sky. RIP Boomer aka Skidmark... you'll be dearly missed.

I'm sorry to hear. :( Losing a dog is just as painful as losing a human family member. Sometimes worse depending on the family member... My condolences.
