Cover drip pan with heavy-duty foil and change as needed. I change mine after every 5 cooks or so depending on what I've been cooking. Whenever I change the foil I also clean the racks and shop vac out the ash from the firepit and the rest of it. Whole process takes maybe 20 mins.
Nothing but good to say about the $999 (US) Traeger Select Pro I got at Costco 6 months ago. Temp swings only about 20 degrees, easy to clean and it looks great!
Can't go wrong either way. Both are great cookers. I've had Traegers for 16 years and love 'em. Friends have CS...love it. IMO they cook virtually the same. Just get the one you like best...you'll have no regrets.
