I own and use the Digi Q with 10 cfm fan on my 18.5" WSM and just love it.
I have the air diverter pointed straight down and have no issues with ash being blown into unwanted areas.
Leaving the Digi Q damper 1/4 to 1/2 open has provided plenty of air flow and temp control during my smoke...
Glad to hear you nailed some salmon on the Kenai.
I heard that locals are allowed to use dip nets.
Bet it's a blast.
Gotta be a challenge if you get too many in the net at one time.
120 fish should keep you going for awhile.
Looking at going back up at the end of August 2014.
Best regards!
Great looking fatties!
Excellent Q-View and tutorial.
If you haven't already got a hold of Jeff's Rub it's real good rubbed on the fattie prior to adding the bacon weave then another dusting on the outside of the bacon weave.
Good job they look delicious.
Welcome to the forum!
I was just up on the Kenai Peninsula Aug 24-31.
3rd year in a row fishing with Randy Berg of "Rod N Real" out of Soldotna.
We nailed the Silvers on the Kenai and managed to nab a few halibut on the Cook Inlet.
Ended up bringing home ~30 lbs of halibut filets and ~60 lbs of...
I've only used Todd Johnson's (A-Maze-N Products) pellets and have zero complaints.
I also nuke these for a minute or two prior to use just in case.
I run the pellets in Todd's AMNPS and AMNTS smokers.
Will stick with Todd's products.
Good luck to you and happy smokin'!
Way to go!
Your fatties look great!
Love the pizza fatties.
When I'm really lazy I buy the prepackaged pizza fillings at my local grocery store.
They have a variety of them available in the deli section.
Just tear off the plastic film and poor onto the rolled out sausage, roll up, install bacon...
Great looking harvest Kat!
I've never had luck with cabbage.
My tomatoes are kickin' butt right now.
Made my first batch of salsa (actually a Pico de Gallo) a couple of days ago.
Cucumbers are having a hard time with the heat.
Peppers are all doing well.
Egg plant and zuchinni doing well also...
Kat, Yours sound good.
That's probably the only way I'll ever be able to get my wife and daughter to try em.
They turn their noses up at anything remotely spicy.
