    Started fixing some of the pos work that they had already done to the tank,,they had no seal at the top of the door. And hinges where way too small.i went old. School with the hinges.

    I was drilling the holes in the 1/2 flat bar for the 9/16 bolts for the hinges and door latch. Thought it wasnt worrh setting up the drill press and just grabbed my 1/2 drill. Ended up wasting about 2 hours doing something that should have taken 10 minutes. And with 1/2 the bit stuck where i...

    Not much done this week, just made firebox door with hinges and latch. I hate drilling holes, especicially. When you break a bit off in the hole.

    Stick a pie vent on the floor and attach an ash pan underneath the firebox, ( but hang it low so it gets plenty of air) then stick a nice row of vents slightly above the firegrate. For upper vent if you want one, all you need is a couple sq inches

    Pie vent on bottom allows ashes to fall out. Its also better on windy days.

    No Dave, the hole was from the old firebox, i covered it up with the plate, the hole is still there but sealed inside the cc
