I use the weed dragon and it works great! Be careful though or you will become the Human Torch! Not quite the super hero you wanna emulate!
Have no fear, Super Q is here! Anyway check out the link below...
Charcoal Grilling-from start to cook in 60 seconds!
Pay the $700, get some new tires, drag it home and give it some love! Ya ever see the movie Christine? Well there ya go, just hope it doesn't start killin people ... I can see beauty and potential under the pigeon shizzle!
Ok here is a cook from today. These ribs were fall off the bone awsome!!! I cooked 6 racks of spare ribs and OMG they were good! The smoke ring was all the way to the bone...
I know smoknrookie has be askin for some inside pix so here they are with the gill grate lifted out.
Drip...
The handles to the dampers on mine are on the back of the stacks that is probably why you can't see them. I put them in backwards and I was too lazy to fix'em... I should though cause it is kinda stupid to have them back there!
You don't have to use the dampers! You can always just partially...
Ok here is what I used for mine. I bought all at Homedepot.
This is the collar that goes into the side of the drum and also has the damper in it. The handle for the damper is hard to see in my pics because I painted the small handle black but it is there.
This is the damper that just pops...
I am with Richtee on this one! I would go with lump and throw some wood chunks in every so often. I prefer not to soak my wood but that is a subject of controversy. ShooterRick's modified 3-2-1 method works real good for me! Rick has the trick! If you are using oak lump then you are pretty much...
I would have to disagree with not having dampers\baffels in the smoke stacks. I leave mine wide open to 3/4 open all of the time. If you are using the Vogelzang stove kit it comes with dampers in the flues from the fire barrel which you can also adjust. The combination of all of these give you...
That's a good question! Wonder if smoknrookie could provide us with some pics? I like the double UDS idea though, I was thinkin about doin one of those and makin it look like a rocket with a launch pad, side opening doors, fins and all and having the smoke vent out small ports on the sides...
On the double barrel smokers it is a little different because the burn barrel is directly below the cooking chamber. This different than an offset. I would recommend that you install stacks on either side 3/4 of the way up. center it about half way between the top of the grill grate and the top...
Thanks SALBAJE!! I really like your "R2 we Q"! That is definitely unique! Did you post any pics of your homebuilt vertical 150 gallon? I would like to see that...
That's a great site "Naked Whiz's Lump Charcoal Database" I had not seen that before. It's pretty good charcoal, smells great also. The only thing not so great was the price, I paid about $5.79 a bag. I got it a Sweetbay Supermarket and everything there is high.
Here are some early pics before she was finished. I guess I am kinda posting these pics backwards but I just found these and thought I might as well post them. You can see the lite rust inside, I got rid of that with a sanding sponge and then I sprayed the inside with vegtable oil. I seasoned it...
Has anybody tried Duraflame Hardwood Lump Charcoal? I bought 2 - 8.8lb bags and I think it is as good as RO if not a little better. I noticed it in the grocery store and thought I would give it a try since RO is getting harder and harder to find. Check out the website to see what stores carry it...
Hey norrell6, I grew up in Indiana just outside of Muncie. I miss Indiana and all of the corn fields, pig farms and Hoosiers! I used to go out in the fields after the farmers would plow and find buckets of arrow heads when I was kid! I miss that!! I wish my kids could experience that! I took it...
