    Congrats on a successful smoke. You should let the briquettes light real good before assembling the unit, then usually ya don't get the white smoke, no matter the fuel. Ya do need to let the WSM settle in a bit before putting the product on.

    If I had bought wood with termites I'd be asking for a full refund, that's bullchit. Get rid of that infected wood. If they spread into your home you're in for a lot of trouble.

    Shoot, give it a try. I liked the Stubbs for it's longer and cleaner burn. The RO didn't last as long and created far more ash.

    Just use it. If you have found a brand you like my suggestion would be stay with it. Briquettes imo vary so much in quality.

    Best thing to do is to try it an report back. I've tried RO briquettes and didn't care all that much for them. I'm a Stubbs fan.

    I don't think it's nearly as good as the GFS brand either. To many small pieces.

    I have a 20" Horizon in which I use all wood. Tried the Minion method in it but I can't say I liked it. I prefer an all wood smoke in the Horizon. When using the Horizon I use something similar to this method . It's more work and the fire needs tending but the end results are worth it.

    That's a good price. I have been using Stubbs 99% of the time. I'm really liking this stuff. I buy my RO at GFS in the 20lb bags for $12.99 a bag.
