Horizonal Offset Smoker Mods
I found a 3" elbow at Lowes I"m thinking of using to drop my smokestack down to the grate. would there be a problem having a curve in the pipe right above the grate? also i've seen some mention of people placing pans under the smokestack opening. What is the purpose of this? Thanks, Aaron- big_z

think this stuff is food safe? silicate cement http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/ite...Caulks-_-2KVH9 say it dries brick-hard. so i'm guessing it would be ok. wouldn't have to worry about it melting or giving off fumes.- big_z

I bought a BBQ Pro offset smoker on sale at Sears. I have read bout the many mods that can make these cheap smokers more reliable. One mod is plugging airgaps to improve airflow/control.
