you could use a charcoal chimney to start the coals with then theres not much smoke after there all white and burning niceley:grilling_smilie::grilling_smilie:
well i ended up with a great price on the cylinder from a friend and the pump came with a lil loader i purchased to put on my tractor
are the welded cylinders prone to cracking or breaking ? this one came off a dozer it was used to lift the blade up and down
the cylinder bore is about 3"...
Hopefully it will only be 500/600 lbs with full of hdrolic oil I have a bad habbit of useing things well beyond there engineered limits then rebuild them to take the punishment so with this build im just skipping a step and throwing the beefier parts on ill prolly used it as a press also...

i have a burner just like the link you have i have a regulator and a needle valve on the hose its run buy propane
i also have a weed burner i got from harbor freight for 20 bucks it dosent have a regulator on it but it does have the needle valve
the burner puts of alot of heat i use it for...
Man i gota say nice build I liked it all double stacks double dampers nice rf plate with taper super firebox good job on the handles it really turned out great I liked the grates too very nice build and you gota a pretty sweet slicer to boot I hope you get many years of smoked goodness...
