Looking good.... sounds like you have a handle on it already. Sometime, try placing an aluminum pan of hot water toward the right side. Leave about 3 to 4 inches or so from the sfb. I like to do that and I think it helps add some moisture and hold the temps more even..... just my opinion for...
Welcome to the board from another North Carolinian.....
You will love the CG w/sfb. I have 2 of them and had them both going this past weekend.
Enjoy the weekend and the get together, and new marriage.

This is a link that I found pretty informative for those that want to venture into sharpening their own.
I got a Lansky unit for sharpening, but later got a stone and just use it. It seems to be about the easiest after getting the hang of holding the knife...
Sorry to hear about your little man. Sure was glad that you happen to be in the right place at the right time. We will be sending up some prayers on this end of the country as well.

I always get the full packer for that reason. I have read that if you layer it with bacon, that will help. The fat from the bacon helps.... or, you can smoke it for (that small of a one) about maybe a couple of hours. Then put it in an aluminum pan with some apple juice, or other moisture...
How does that basket fit if you just turn it sideways??? Just a thought. It looks like it would just sit in there up high enough to allow air to flow through it.
I just put a piece of expanded metal on top of my sfb cooking grate and put my coals there. It works great.

This could be your lucky day.... I just happen to have one... It is off of a newer 22 1/2" that I acquired. I will look and see if it is still under the house.. Is that the black one? This one if I remember right is the newer one, with the composite handle. I needed something for mine (older...
They are on end of the year clearance special. I was in the right place at the right time....
These are the overhead type style tents on stilts open of the four sides..... I was looking to see if they had them on the website, but they didn't. They are about half the normal price.

As a rule, the competitors are not allowed to sell or give away their food.
They charge enough to enter the comps, and then the vendors usually have to pay an addition extremely high fee to sell, plus pay back a portion of the sales.
The judging is a way to go. Or, see if there is a team in...
The flexible drier vents that I have bought are aluminum. I see you brought yours down and turned it more to the middle. I just shaped mine with the lid and cut it just above the cooking grate.
I didn't seal the "leaks" on mine. A few times, there has been smoke rolling out of different...
I just shaped mine to the lid, and let it hang in the front left corner. I didn't even attach it and it stays there with no problem. Even with loading and unloading in the trailer and taking them to competitions.
When you buy the flexible dryer vent hose, you will have enough to make two...
Ok, let me see what I can do. I haven't posted too many pics here, so let's see what happens
This should be the expanded metal for the sfb for the coals.
Here is the wheels I added to my first one. If you do go with this type of wheel, let me know and I will step you through it.
I hope...
I might be able to answer some of your questions.... since I have 2 of them.
IMHO, for the price, you can't beat them. After you get it, you may have to make a couple of small adjustments to it.
I extended the vent down to the cooking grate with aluminum drier vent. That helped even out...
Just stay relaxed, not much different than the get together other than the timed turn-ins....
Do what you normally do.... do NOT change anything at the comp. And the main thing, go and have fun. You will make us all proud.....
Hope to see ya on the circuit one day. Don't forget Norfolk...
And what is this.....
Yahtzee
Looks like someone has too much time on her hands......
I was wondering about that compressor myself..... I have my thoughts, but will keep this one clean.....
And of course, you should know that she will have Bud... who else is going to do all of the...
