    Has anyone smoked a turkey covered with cheesecloth? I am curious to hear feedback from someone that has smoked one with and one without cheesecloth. I know cheesecloth helps keep lighter color but does it have any other effect?

    I would go with a Louisiana Grills, your local Costco might have one and it's a great deal for a smoker under $1,000

    MAK 2 is a sweet smoker but both the Rec Tec and MAK will produce some awesome smoked meat so should you spend the extra money is up to you.

    That is the down side of pellet or electric smokers, they can fail and if they do it will mostly likely be right in the middle of a smoke. This is where a WSM is a winner, no parts to fail.
