Thanks Foamheart. It doesn't look like the standard pulled pork but it did have great flavor. I added my homemade sauce and it made a great sandwich. So I'm happy. I will try again. I refuse to give up until I get it right !! At least a pork butt is one of the cheaper meats to buy 128516
Well it's done. Mixed results. It was not pull off the bone like I hoped. I had to cut it all off and then chop it up. Used my sauce and had sandwiches. Still very good. The flavor of the meat was awesome though !! Not sure what I did wrong.
Someone else posted a while back about his shocking him also. Same one, MES 40. I have a 30 1st generation and so far no issues like that. That's messed up!!
Thanks for your opinion. I decided not too because I am using an injection. Also because I'm tired and going to bed 128516. I will post pics of my progress tomorrow if anyone is interested.
Wow. Thanks everyone great advice. I had no idea I had to go to such a high IT for pulled. I think I won't foil. In want a nice bark. Smoking B I am using a MES 30 first edition.
Hey Guys,
well, this weekend I want to try to smoke a Boston Butt for some pulled pork sandwiches.. I have never done one yet. my question is this, after the IT hits 160, some say to pull it out and wrap in foil and continue smoke until 180-190. other say to just leave it in until desired...
